Some things that should be included on this list of requirements are salon furniture and equipment. These two issues are important to your comfort and service.

Walking into a salon should be comfortable. The reception area should be just as comfortable as the rest of the salon. Sometimes, you will get an immediate feel for the type of hair salon business that they are running. It will be important that the waiting area has nice, comfortable furniture. You may end up sitting in this area for a long time. Clean, nice, comfortable waiting room furniture will be important. If this is your first appointment somewhere, this may sway your first impression.

The beauty salon equipment in the stylist station and shampoo areas will also be critical. You will be spending the majority of your time in your stylist styling chairs. A perm or hair coloring will have you in seats for hours. Comfort can often sway your determination about coming back. Another key space is the shampoo area. Reclining shampoo seats can sometimes be uncomfortable. You may not have to spend long in these seats. Even so, they should be adjustable for your pleasure.

Depending on the salon you go to, there may also be coloring stations, dryer stations, or manicure and pedicure areas. You want to be comfortable here as well. You should seriously take a look at the equipment being used. You want them to use good quality dryers. If you have to sit under a dryer for some sort of treatment, you want the heat and overhead lamp to be pleasant. They should be made perfect for you with adjustments. If you are in the manicure/pedicure station, looking at their equipment can also tell you what kind of care you are getting. It will be critical that you get treatments with clean, great quality equipment.

Make a list of requirements before you go to a new salon. Aside from stylists and treatments, you should add furniture and equipment. The quality of these two products can totally make or break a hair salon. If you are not completely comfortable, you should go somewhere else. Quality furniture and high quality equipment will have you going back for more.
